NEW Masterplanning has been appointed jointly with GVA Grimley to lead a team which will prepare a strategic vision and masterplan for Bodmin.

A client team comprising North Cornwall District Council, the South West Regional Development Agency, Cornwall County Council and the Environment Agency together with the Bodmin SIF Steering Group commissioned NEW Masterplanning and GVA Grimley supported by WSP, Roger Tym and Partners and RPS to develop a fresh vision and masterplan to guide the significant anticipated growth over the next 20 years.

The commission builds on our existing commitment and experience in Bodmin having worked closely with the other team members in the preparation of the Town Centre Framework Plan, Strategic Investment Framework and a Development Brief for two key town centre sites.

A community led visioning exercise will help inform the development of a spatial
masterplan for the town containing outline proposals for different types of development, public open space, green infrastructure and other infrastructure.

A key component of the work will be the production of an Implementation Plan and an Outputs/Monitoring Plan, which will involve viability and market testing of the different schemes as proposed in the masterplan.

It is anticipated that final consultation on the masterplan proposals will take place towards the end of 2009.
