The multi-million pound 'Heart of Slough' project has been approved and work is now well underway to transform the 29 acre site around the current Brunel roundabout.

The new modern bus station is currently under construction forming the first part of the 450 million pound investment from the public and private sector to regenerate Slough town centre.

The project is being delivered by Slough Borough Council, the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), and Development Securities to bring new homes, offices, hotels, retail and community facilities to Slough. In addition to the new bus station, a new landmark community complex building will provide a new central library, learning and cultural facility for the town.

NEW Masterplanning has been involved in the Heart of Slough project since 2004. Our masterplan formed the basis of the planning permission granted by Slough Borough Council in July 2009. Our remit included preparation of the Design & Access Statement, ES plans, and a mixed-use hotel, residential and retail scheme for the HCA owned site and detailed design for the wider public realm. We also constructed a detailed scale model to aid consultation and engagement exercises.

You can now monitor the progress being made on the Heart of Slough by visiting the dedicated website: www.heartofslough.com. The website includes a webcam recording a time lapse video of construction work.
