NEW masterplanning and Hemingway design have recently been selected by Test Valley Borough Council to lead on the masterplanning project to redevelop the town centre.
The team saw off strong competition from 29 other consultancies to win the project. NEW will lead on the masterplanning and spatial framework while Hemingway Design will focus on place branding and community engagement.
NEW and Hemingway Design were drawn to the project following the Council’s bold move to purchase the local shopping facility the Chantry Centre. A move which would allow for a greater scale of redevelopment in town centre that previously was not possible.
The masterplanning process will take around 12 months to complete and will provide numerous opportunities for the public to get involved.
