Gloucester West Quay

Historic Docks

British Waterways commissioned NEW Masterplanning to assess the development potential of this key area of the city centre.

Our work on the URC Framework identified the significance of Gloucester 'West Quay' as a gateway to the city and a visitor destination in its own right. Opportunities exist for new retail and leisure uses to complement the development of Gloucester Quays (a factory outlet centre), for education uses to complement the development of GLOSCAT and for iconic residential development to mark the location of the historic docks.

We are in the process of testing this potential in more detail, and identifying a preferred scheme which will form the basis of a subsequent planning application.
