NEW masterplanning

Geraint is a town planner with background in economic development and regeneration. Prior to setting up NEW Masterplanning he led the regeneration team at Terence O’Rourke and the town centre regeneration team at DTZ.

Geraint has particular expertise in town centre and retail masterplanning and in the south-west has led strategies and masterplans for Taunton, Gloucester, Bath, Bridgwater, Bournemouth and Weston-super- Mare. His wider work includes strategies for Slough, Wolverhampton, Oldham and Reading.

Geraint led the team which prepared the Regeneration Framework for Gloucester Heritage URC. The Framework seeks to deliver £1billion of private sector investment over  10 years and includes major retail expansion around Kings Square, city centre housing and employment, a ‘creative/cultural’ quarter, major transport and infrastructure investment and a bold public realm strategy.

Geraint also led the RTPI award-winning Taunton Vision Urban Design Framework on behalf of South West RDA, Taunton Deane Borough Council and Somerset County Council. It included economic and transport frameworks, detailed masterplans, development briefs and design codes, sustainability and options appraisals, viability testing and delivery advice.
