Buckover Garden Village
NEW masterplanning is working with Tortworth Estate and St Modwen Developments to deliver a new Garden Village in South Gloucestershire. The proposal will follow genuine Garden City principles, applied to the issues being faced in the 21st Century. It will focus on healthy food and healthy living, walkable mixed-use neighbourhoods, an integrated and connected place, an innovative and entrepreneurial community.
Tortworth Estate will maintain a long term interest in Buckover, promoting local food and local employment. Land value capture and community governance will be central to the Garden Village spirit. A number of workshops have already been held and local residents and stakeholders will continue to be involved in the planning and design process. The site is allocated in the Local Plan and the team is working closely with local authority officers on the proposals.
