Planning approval has been secured for an integrated neighbourhood extension of Milborne Port in Somerset.

Milborne Port is an attractive village in the rural setting of Somerset, situated between the Blackmore Vale hills and the valley of the river Gascoigne. The proposals create the opportunity for a sustainable extension of Milborne Port to provide new homes with associated open space and connections that would add positively to the local area and integrate successfully with the immediate and wider setting.

Of the 58 new homes (which range from one-bedroom flats to five-bedroom houses), 20 will be affordable, meeting the council's target of 35 per cent affordable housing. New allotments will be provided along the northern edge of the site, with the cemetery gaining a number of new parking spaces accessed through the existing entrance.

NEW masterplanning were appointed by Wyatt Homes to lead on the preparation of a detailed masterplan and reserved matters planning application submission following the granting of an outline approval for the site in 2022.
